NBA March 3rd Starting Five

The NBA season in full swing and we have another great slate tonight! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Ayo Dosunmo ($5,300)

Ayo has had one bad game in the last almost 3 weeks and his price is somehow below what it was before he was scoring 30 DK points regularly. He's been getting a decent number of shots up, but the peripherals are what prop him up and those are coming in bunches lately. He is a hyper efficient guard who will likely be needed quite a bit to defend Trae here (who I think is going to play). I just think his price is way too low for being a core piece in the 2nd highest implied total game on the slate. This is a guy who has scored 30+ DK points in 5 of the last 7 games. It feels like DK is disrespecting his upside just on a single bad game from a few nights ago.
High: Dejounte Murray ($10,600) or Luka Doncic ($12,200)
Mid: Derrick White ($6,300) or Spencer Dinwiddie ($5,600)
Low: Killian Hayes ($4,000) or Lonnie Walker IV ($4,600)

SG: Bogdan Bogdanovic ($6,000)

Bogdan has scored 30+ DK points in 6 of the last 7 games with most going for closer to 40 DK points. He is getting all the minutes he can ask for right now and there is a chance we get a limited Trae Young or he sits. They will need scoring against Chicago and Bogdan can provide that. It is likely that Ayo will defend Trae here opening up some usage for Bogdan to take up. People underestimate how solid of a defender Ayo is and what it forces other teams to do offensively. Everything is set up for Bogdan to have another big game here.
High: Cade Cunningham ($7,500)
Mid: Marcus Smart ($6,400) or Devin Vassell ($5,500)
Low: Gary Payton ($4,100) or Amir Coffey ($3,700)

SF: Jayson Tatum ($10,000)

Without Jaylen Brown we will likely see Tatum get a higher usage and more scoring opportunities. They are going up against the team with the 2nd highest pace in the league and if they run the lineup I am expecting (White/Smart/Tatum/Horford/Williams) then it really will be just Tatum and White out there that are scoring type players. The rest fit more of a defensive mold so everything should be funneled through Tatum here. I don't think Ziaire is going to stop him in any way so the defensive matchup isn't really too tough. Tatum just checks every box for tonight in what should be one of the closer games as well.
High: Jimmy Butler ($8,700)
Mid: Terence Mann ($5,900) and Saddiq Bey ($6,400)
Low: DeAndre Hunter ($4,500) or Jeremy Lamb ($3,900)

PF: Robert Covington ($4,200)

There really isn't much value tonight which is why I am intrigued by Covington tonight. At this price he would have hit 5x value in 5 of the last 6 games. He has been getting a good amount of peripherals to boost his score, but he has been getting up enough shots efficiently to still score very well. If the Lakers are going to start Lebron at C then the most logical move would be for the Clippers to match it with Covington at C as well. I think he gets a solid number of minutes and does his usual thing here. I think the kicker for me is Covington has scored 28+ DK points in his last 3 games against the Lakers. While I don't expect him to explode here I think he offers you a solid floor and is a solid value for this slate.
High: DeMar DeRozan ($10,300)
Mid: Jaren Jackson Jr. ($6,200) or Jerami Grant ($6,500)
Low: Thad Young ($3,800) or Carmelo Anthony ($5,300)

C: Jakob Poeltl ($7,500)

Poeltl is balling right now with 40+ DK points in 3 straight games with multiple 50 DK point games as well. This is a big pace game with a lot of scoring given it is the highest implied total game on the slate. Sacremento has had the worst C DvP across all positions in the league over the last two weeks so there is no doubt that Poeltl can't dominate here. I would highly surprised if he busts here even at this steep of a price. It would probably take the Spurs changing up their entire offensive flow.
High: Domantas Sabonis ($9,700)
Mid: Steven Adams ($6,100) or Isaiah Stewart ($4,900)
Low: Kevin Looney ($4,400) or Trey Lyles ($4,000)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
