NBA February 8th Starting Five

The NBA season in full swing and we have another great slate tonight! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Game Environment
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Jalen Green ($5,000)

This was a tough choice between Green and his teammate Kevin Porter Jr, but I am siding with Green due to the recent production. The game has a very high implied total and Green has seen his usage jump to close to 30% in the last few games. The minutes are consistently around 30-33 and he is the future of this franchise. I think they are trying to draw things up to get him more involved and it is showing with the recent production. I actually think I like the matchup the most with KPJ against Graham who is a good on ball defender. That will likely mean that Green gets the higher usage and the price isn't reflective of what his ceiling could be in this spot.
High: Trae Young ($9,800)
Mid: Jalen Brunson ($6,900)
Low: Cameron Thomas ($4,800) or Dennis Smith Jr. ($3,100)

SG: Ziaire Williams ($3,400)

Williams has been playing well above this price tag lately with 3 straight games over 25 minutes and 19+ DK points in all of those (high of 34 DK points). They are letting him get up a decent amount of shots with double digits in 2 of the last 3. On top of all of that, this game has a very healthy implied total with both teams being in the top 12 of pace. If he can just get the same usage then no reason we can't see somewhere around 6-7x value which is very solid for a punt play.
High: Brandon Ingram ($9,200)
Mid: Reggie Bullock ($5,600) or Davion Mitchell ($5,400)
Low: Ben McLemore ($3,500)

SF: Lebron James ($10,500)

In the game of the night Lebron gets his shot against Giannis and the Bucks. This should be a very high scoring affair and Lebron can be had at a discount compared to the other studs on the slate. He has back to back 60+ DK point games and I really don't see that changing. Even with both Russ and Davis he has been insanely efficient, so why would that change here. The Bucks don't defend him well at all given his 55+ DK points in each of the last 7 contests. This is such a smash spot for Lebron so roll him out with confidence.
High: Anthony Edwards ($8,300)
Mid: Marcus Morris ($6,500)
Low: Garrison Mathews ($4,300) or CJ Elleby ($3,400)

PF: Moe Harkless ($4,000)

Rarely will you find a $4,000 guy with 39 and 40 DK points in his last two games. Harkless has that going for him here and I see no reason the minutes or usage change. The last 3 games the Kings have employed the same rotation and now they get the team that runs at the 2nd fastest pace in the league. That will open up a ton of rebounding opportunities for Harkless as well as maybe a few extra shots. Harkless has 10+ shots in 3 straight games with 15%+ usage in each of those. If he can keep those numbers up then he should smash value.
High: Domantas Sabonis ($9,400)
Mid: Jaxson Hayes ($5,500) or Jaren Jackson Jr. ($6,800)
Low: De'Andre Hunter ($4,600) or Chuma Okeke ($4,300)

C: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,800)

If you haven't noticed by now I really want to get guys from the LAL and MIL game. I feel comfortable saying it is one of if not the highest scoring game tonight and Giannis will be a big part of that. With the Lakers lacking on the defensive end, he should be able to do just about whatever he wants. The Lakers over the last two weeks have had the worst PF DvP and 2nd worst C DvP. Let's hope this game lives up to the hype because I will be all over it tonight.
High: Joel Embiid ($12,000) or Jonas Valanciunas ($8,300)
Mid: Steven Adams ($5,500) or Bobby Portis ($6,600)
Low: Alperen Sengun ($4,500) or JaVale McGee ($3,400)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
