NBA February 4th Starting Five

The NBA season has been here, but today it is now December which means it's CHRISTMAS TIME! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Marcus Smart ($5,700)

Smart is actually playing really good ball right now with three straight games with 15%+ usage and 35+ DK points in back to back games. Detroit will likely be without Cunningham here so they will have Cory Joseph guarding him who is a below average defender. Smart has been quite productive in the peripheral department and Detroit has allowed the 4th most assists to PGs over the last two weeks. With the price still low, I think he can reach a decent value. I also think that ownership will be quite low given the implied total. Take advantage of that and take Smart as a leverage play.
High: Luka Doncic ($11,900)
Mid: Ayo Dosunmu ($5,600)
Low: Cory Joseph ($4,300)

SG: Tre Mann ($4,200)

No Shai or Wiggins most likely will lead to Mann getting a mess of minutes and the price is still incredibly low for the ceiling he could bring. The implied total is extremely low, but I don't think that matters given his implied role tonight. Both teams are middle of the pack in pace and I certainly think the score will more than the game the other night which ended in a 98-81 final. It won't take much for Mann to hit value and he has a ceiling at this price to potentially optimal.
High: LaMelo Ball ($9,600)
Mid: Kelly Oubre Jr. ($5,200)
Low: Frank Jackson ($3,900)

SF: Saddiq Bey ($6,200)

I have gone back and forth about Bey, but settled on chasing him here. Last night without Cunningham he went for 54 DK points with a whopping 21 peripherals. He got his 2nd highest usage rate and highest scoring game of the season so there is a lot to like. This is off of a back to back, but we could see Grant or Olynyk sit due to them coming back just this week from injury. That could lead to an even larger role and I don't think the price is reflective of that. If Cunningham is out, then be confident in this play tonight.
High: Zach Lavine ($8,900)
Mid: Luke Dort ($6,400)
Low: Torrey Craig ($4,600)

PF: Evan Mobley ($7,600)

There might not be a worse team in the league against bigs then Charlotte and that is who Mobley plays tonight. It should be business as usual for the rookie who is coming off of his 2nd highest scoring DK point game of the season with 49 DK points last time out. The minutes and usage should be solid and the efficiency will for sure be there in a cupcake matchup. In a massive pace up spot, I actually think Mobley could one up his last performance and possibly have his best game of the season.
High: DeMar DeRozan ($9,500) or Pascal Siakam ($9,200)
Mid: PJ Washington ($4,900)
Low: Terry Taylor ($4,200)

C: Nikola Vucevic ($9,400)

With the Pacer's bleeding at the C and PF position, Vuc should absolute dominate in the paint tonight. He is coming off of a 64 DK point performance that went to OT and having Lavine and DeRozan around clean things up for him down low. I think the only thing that scares me a bit is that their game last night did go to OT against a tough Raptors team that probably will leave them a bit sore. If Vuc can over come that, there is no doubt he can go high here. It all comes down to can he be a better value than the likes of Embiid and Jokic (who I also really like). I say he can in a much easier matchup than those two have.
High: Joel Embiid ($12,300) and Nikola Jokic ($12,400)
Mid: Kevin Love ($6,900)
Low: Maxi Kleber ($4,400) or Thaddeus Young ($3,000)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
