NBA February 3rd Starting Five

The NBA season has been here, but today it is now December which means it's CHRISTMAS TIME! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

WARNING: Half the slate is questionable for tonight, so these plays are heavily subject to change! Most of these plays are for guys in solidified spots with no injury news to worry about.

PG: Cory Joseph ($4,300)

With Cunningham leaving last game early and there is no reason to rush him back, I fully expect Joseph to get almost as many minutes as he can ask for tonight with Cunningham sitting. Minnesota has been a bottom 5 PG defense over the last few weeks and Joseph even as a 4th or even 5th option has been producing. 14 shots last game and a massive usage bump after Cunningham went don't leave me thinking that he will keep things rolling here. The price is cheap and the ceiling is there with multiple 40+ DK point games this season. The stars might be aligning for him tonight which is why I really like him. The ownership might be incredibly low as well depending on who plays and who sits for the rest of the field.
High: Chris Paul ($9,700)
Mid: Reggie Jackson ($5,300) or Davion Mitchell ($4,800)**
Low: Lou Williams ($3,400)**

SG: Gary Trent Jr. ($6,100)

Trent might be the hottest player in the NBA right (outside of Embiid), scoring 40+ DK points in 5 straight games with 10+ made FGs in all 5. I think that Chicago will likely put Ayo on FVV which is a much tougher matchup and opt for Lavine on Trent which is a much easier look. This game has the 2nd highest implied total on the slate, should involve a lot of scoring and the 2nd closest spread. That bodes well for all the starters involved including Trent. Until we get a clearer view of the slate, Trent shapes up to be one of the better plays who is on a hot streak.
High: Anthony Edwards ($8,000)
Mid: Bogdan Bogdanovic ($4,900)
Low: Frank Jackson ($3,800) or Delon Wright ($3,600)**

SF: Andrew Wiggins ($6,700)

Wiggins is working on 3 straight 40+ DK point games and only seeing his price rise marginally. The Kings overall (outside of last night) have been horrible defensively, so Wiggins should be able to continue his efficiency. The price is still quite low for his recent production, so I am going right back down the well. I think the only concern for me is that even though the Kings have been horrible defensively, they actually have been 2nd in the league against SF's over the last two weeks. I don't think that really matters that much. His current role in this offense should warrant closer to an $8,000 price tag, so lock and load with Wiggins.
High: Jimmy Butler ($9,400)
Mid: Harrison Barnes ($6,100)
Low: Taurean Prince ($4,400) or Javonte Smart ($3,700)

PF: DeMar DeRozan ($9,200)

Scratch what I said earlier about Trent. DeRozan might be the hottest player in the league right now with 7 straight 46+ DK point performances. His ceiling might not be the highest on the slate, but his floor is probably the highest and he gets a ton of usage and minutes. This game has the 2nd highest implied total on the slate and the 2nd closest spread. I could see the starters, including DeRozan, getting their ceiling minutes because of that. DeRozan should probably be in the $10,000 range, so take the discount on him while you can.
High: Pascal Siakam ($9,000)
Mid: John Collins ($6,300), Keldon Johnson ($5,700) or Carmelo Anthony ($5,000)
Low: PJ Tucker ($4,100)** or Moe Harkless ($3,100)

C: Anthony Davis ($9,800)

This slate might turn into Karl vs. Davis, but I am going to side with Davis for a few reasons. The first is that tonight it should be pretty much Davis and Russ again so their is a usage bump for Davis. Secondly he got priced down following a 57 DK point performance. Lastly, I think a lot of Town's recent production comes from Edwards being quite frankly terrible, so Towns is having to do everything. Edwards will bounce back soon which will probably eat away at Towns' usage. I like Davis' ceiling in this spot as well with the spread being the closest on the slate and I think Davis and Towns are pretty close in minutes and usage. Give me the guy that is a bit cheaper and has the higher ceiling.
High: Karl Anthony Towns ($10,000)
Mid: Clint Capela ($5,900) or Richaun Holmes ($5,000)
Low: Drew Eubanks ($3,300) or Serge Ibaka ($3,500)**
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
