NBA February 28th Starting Five

The NBA season in full swing and we have another great slate tonight! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Tre Mann ($5,400)

This was a tough choice between Mann and his teammate SGA. I am going with Mann purely on the basis that his price hasn't adjusted fully to their recent production. Don't get me wrong here I love Shai tonight. His price is just at a point that if he doesn't pick up the peripherals and is more reliant on his pure scoring that he could bust. I don't feel that way for man who is a whole lot cheaper. He has 34+ DK points in 4 straight games and his role should remain unchanged with both Dort and Giddey both out again. I just can't find a way he fails here unless they blow up this rotation for some god forsaken reason. If it stays the same then Mann is probably in for another 30+ DK point game.
High: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($9,600) or Dejounte Murray ($10,600)
Mid: Terry Rozier ($7,900) or Brandon Goodwin ($5,200)
Low: Gabe Vincent ($3,600)

SG: Tyler Herro ($6,300)

In what should be a highly competitive game, Herro should be given just about all the run he can ask for with Lowry out tonight. Herro is running hot right now with 35+ DK points in 4 of the last 5 games and a decent number of REBs + ASTs to prop up his DK score. He should get around 30-35 minutes here and high usage so regardless of the matchup he should be fine. The implied total is fine and the implied spread is very close as well. Given how Morant just abused this same Bulls team just the other night, Herro might be able to put up a similar performance. The only thing that has me worried is that Ayo Dosunmu is a very solid on ball defender. Hopefully we get Herro in more of a SG role tonight so that he can dodge that matchup here. I just really like this spot for Herro to get a different usage that should help him possibly go for a ceiling game tonight.
High: Tyrese Haliburton ($8,600) or Fred VanVleet ($8,000)
Mid: Jalen Suggs ($5,400) or Lonnie Walker ($4,500)
Low: Cedi Osman ($4,400) or Caleb Martin ($3,200)

SF: Oshae Brissett ($5,900)

There really isn't much going for SF tonight with the highest priced option being Butler who is under $9,000. Brissett has scored 34+ DK points in 5 of the last 6 games. His price is just a bit too low for that type of production and without Turner has established a solid role in this offense. They have allowed him to get up 12+ shots in 5 of the last 6 as well and has over 27 minutes in each of the last 6 games. I just don't think the Pacers have enough quality bigs to disrupt the rotation and force Brissett into a lesser role. Given that Orlando has a bottom 7 defensive efficiency this season, Brissett should be just as efficient as his recent run has been so sign me up for him tonight.
High: Jimmy Butler ($8,900)
Mid: Buddy Hield ($7,000) or Anthony Edwards ($7,000)
Low: Bruce Brown ($5,100) or Jeremy Lamb ($3,800)

PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($12,000)

There are so many reasons to play Giannis tonight. First of all he has the highest ceiling on the slate. Second of all Charlotte is horrible against bigs. Third of all this game has the highest implied total by a mile with both teams top 10 in pace this season. The fourth thing is Giannis has scored 60+ DK points in 6 of the last 7 games against CHA and has a ceiling of 75 DK points in those games. What is there not to like tonight with Giannis when there is enough value to easily get him? Don't get cute here and just take your free square.
High: Miles Bridges ($7,500) or Wendell Carter ($7,400)
Mid: Jaren Jackson Jr ($6,700), Lauri Markkanen ($6,000) or Chuma Okeke ($5,500)
Low: James Johnson ($4,100) or Jaden McDaniels ($3,800)

C: Precious Achiuwa ($3,600)

This is a risky play tonight but Precious has been getting great run without OG in the lineup. He got up to 30 minutes last game following an bump in minutes in each of the last 3 games. He is extremely cheap for having scored 20+ DK points in 3 straight games and 30 DK points last game. Brooklyn isn't what I would call a solid defensive team without all of Durant, Irving and Simmons. There is a good amount of risk here with Precious, but the price hasn't caught up to the recent production making him a great value play tonight.
High: Domantas Sabonis ($9,500) or Bam Adebayo ($8,800)
Mid: Jakob Poeltl ($7,300), Evan Mobley ($6,900), Bobby Portis ($6,900) or Steven Adams ($6,000)
Low: Jalen Smith ($4,900) or Thad Young ($3,400)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
