NBA February 17th Starting Five

The NBA season in full swing and we have another great slate tonight! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Dennis Schroder ($4,400)

This is a risky move because if Porter Jr. ends up playing he could return to a more reserved role. However, if Porter is out again then Schroder likely is the best value on the slate. He scored 46 DK points in 39 minutes even with Eric Gordon in the picture. This game tonight has the highest implied total and Schroder will more than likely the the #1 option (If Wood is out too). You don't find that often at such a cheap price point, so don't get cute here. If those two, Porter and Wood, play then opt to go for the guys below. I would still like Schroder at this price point though even with both playing.
High: Luka Doncic ($12,400)
Mid: Reggie Jackson ($6,800) or Kyle Lowry ($6,600)
Low: Luke Kennard ($3,200) or Raul Neto ($4,600)

SG: Seth Curry ($5,500)

Curry has scored 35+ DK points in back to back games and has only seen his price go up $100. His role with Brooklyn seems to be more defined with a much higher on ball %. His handling of the ball has resulted in more assists which boosts his floor and ceiling by quite a bit. His matchup is easy against Washington who doesn't really have much quality depth at the SG/SF position. As long as Curry's role doesn't magically change then he should be live for another 30+ DK point game which at this price is extremely solid.
High: CJ McCollum ($8,500) or Khris Middleton ($7,800)
Mid: Jalen Brunson ($6,400)
Low: Jalen Green ($4,800) or Eric Gordon ($3,800)

SF: Kyle Kuzma ($9,000)

The natural build tonight is to pick one of Doncic, Giannis or Embiid then load up on the 6-8k range. This will likely leave Kuzma under owned even though he has been absolutely killing it. He has scored 58, 48 and 47 DK points in 3 of the last 4 games. From a point/$ standpoint he might be able to be a better value then those 10k+ options. The matchup against Brooklyn shouldn't be too difficult and if they are going to let Kuzma get 25+ shot attempts every game then the sky is the limit.
High: Jimmy Butler ($8,800)
Mid: Marcus Morris ($6,200) or Cameron Thomas ($5,800)
Low: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($4,400) or Deni Avdija ($4,500)

PF: Nicolas Batum ($4,200)

Batum in the last two games has been electric, scoring north of 30 DK points in back to back games. The minutes have trickled up in his new role without Powell and it really benefits him in a multitude of ways. The usage is up and so are his shot attempts (9 and 14). The price is still very low for the implied production for tonight and if you want a shot at getting two studs you might have to take the Batum value.
High: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($12,100)
Mid: Tobias Harris ($7,100) or Jae'Sean Tate ($5,100)
Low: Alperen Sengun ($4,500) or James Johnson ($3,600)

C: Bam Adebayo ($8,400)

This was a really hard choice between Bam and Zubac. Both are in smash spots and playing well at that. The reason I like Bam so much is ownership. The pecking order is more than likely going to be Embiid > Zubac > Drummond and then a slew of other guys. Bam will come in severely under owned and has a 60 DK point ceiling in this spot. Charlotte is horrible against bigs and Bam is one of the best in terms of his all around game. He can do it in every facet, so unless this game blows s out then Bam will likely pay off in a big way.
High: Joel Embiid ($11,800)
Mid: Andre Drummond ($6,000) or Montrezl Harrell ($5,300)
Low: Ivica Zubac ($4,700), Maxi Kleber ($4,000) or Serge Ibaka ($4,000)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
