NBA February 16th Starting Five

The NBA season in full swing and we have another great slate tonight! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Tyus Jones ($3,100)

There is maybe a 1% chance Ja Morant plays one game prior to the All Star break following an ankle injury. Tyus filled in for him last game to the tune of 44 DK points. Take your free square and move on here. If Ja magically plays then use the other plays below!
High: Dejounte Murray ($11,000) or Trae Young ($9,400)
Mid: = Jalen Suggs ($5,900) or D'Angelo Russell ($7,400)
Low: Raul Neto ($4,700) or Lonnie Walker ($4,000)

SG: Josh Giddey ($8,300)

The Thunder have numerous injuries right now all over the place which is leading to the Thunder lifting his minutes restriction. In the last two games, he has gotten 33 and 38 minutes along with 44 and 64 DK points. His usage is just so insane right now and lifts his floor up to nearly 40 DK points. If this game can just stay close there is no reason he can't put up a massive stat line once again. Even for guys in the $10,000 range you don't get north of 30% usage rate which is what Giddey has right now. The matchup against Dejounte Murray doesn't really concern me, but it would be the only weakness for Giddey tonight. I just don't think Murray is going to be going all out on defense in the last game prior to the all-star game.
High: Donovan Mitchell ($9,000) or Devin Booker ($8,700)
Mid: Desmond Bane ($6,400) or Derrick White ($5,800)
Low: Donte DiVincenzo ($3,900), Quentin Grimes ($4,100) or Tre Mann ($4,900)

SF: Buddy Hield ($6,200)

Ever since his trade to the Pacers, Hield has been extremely solid. He has averaged 38 minutes/game with 40+ DK points in 2 of the 3 games. Washington is pretty poor defensively, ranking in the bottom 10 for defensive efficiency this year. I don't see anything that should bring Hield's minutes or usage down, so I am rolling with him once again. I think the only concern would be if Duarte plays but no team is going to bring back an injured player right now with a 7 day break coming soon.
High: Lebron James ($10,500) or Jayson Tatum ($9,600)
Mid: Josh Hart ($6,900) or Bogdan Bogdanovic ($5,500)
Low: Talen Horton-Tucker ($4,300) or Chuma Okeke ($4,600)

PF: Julius Randle ($9,700)

Randle is just too hot right now to pass on under $10,000. He has scored 55+ DK points in 5 of the last 6 games and the Nets are just no good defensively. Without Irving and Durant I just don't see anyone stopping him. With RJ Barrett out we have seen Randle's usage sky rocket. There really isn't much to say other than be confident in him as a play unless he gets hurt. The ownership might not be too high either with all of the games on the slate tonight.
High: DeMar DeRozan ($10,400) or Kyle Kuzma ($8,600)
Mid: Jaren Jackson Jr. ($7,100) or Darius Bazley ($6,500)
Low: Jaden McDaniels ($3,500), Danilo Gallinari ($4,600) or Jonathan Kuminga ($4,500)

C: Clint Capela ($5,300)

I get Capela busted last night, but it wasn't surprising against one of the best interior defensive teams in the league (Cleveland). Tonight he gets Orlando who is quite the opposite. They have the 8th worst C DvP over the last few weeks and Capela should get his usual 30 minute again here with no John Collins. I just think the price for the implied production is way too low and the leverage you can get from the field fading him after the bust last night is too good to pass up.
High: Nikola Vucevic ($9,800)
Mid: Deandre Ayton ($6,800), Mitchell Robinson ($5,800), Al Horford ($5,600) or Steven Adams ($5,400)
Low: Isaiah Roby ($3,500) or Marvin Bagley ($3,600)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
