NBA December 8th Starting Five

The NBA season has been here, but today it is now December which means it's CHRISTMAS TIME! We have such an exciting season up ahead and plenty of opportunities to win some money! There are four key things I look for in a player to have the highest probability of being optimal!
1. Price
2. Opponent DvP
3. Recent Minutes/Rotation Time
4. Usage Rate
These four statistics paired together are the best suitors to find a gem. Almost everyone I mention below hits on atleast 2 of these if not all of them! Hopefully this will help you be more successful while building lineups and give you a higher chance of winning the big bucks!
I would also like to note that I write these articles early in the day. It is always beneficial to check @FantasyLabsNBA for lineup changes. Those changes could have a direct effect on some of my "favorite plays" in the sense that if a cheap guy that was one of my favorites doesn't start, then they might no longer be a favorite play or even a play at all. Check out my Twitter @HeatingUpDFS for any updates on favorite play changes!

PG: Kenrich Williams ($3,300)

This might not be what you would expect as my favorite play on a 12 game slate, but I really think Williams is massively mispriced. In a game with every starter active, Williams returned to the lineup, got 27 minutes of run and 32 DK points. Tonight he gets to go against Toronto who does have a solid back court lineup in FVV and Gary Trent, but that isn't who Williams will get most of his minutes against. He should see more Dalano Banton and Svi Mykhailiuk who are not what I would call solid defenders. What I think I like the most about him is that in their last game, he played all but 1 minutes from the 4 minute mark in the 3rd quarter until the end of the game. That to me makes me think his minutes are pretty secure unless this blows out and in that case the price is way too low and he can easily repeat this past performance which is good for close to 10x value.
High: Stephen Curry ($11,400)
Mid: Cade Cunningham ($7,600) or Dennis Smith Jr. ($5,800)
Low: Ayo Dosunmo ($3,900) or John Konchar ($3,300)

SG: Donovan Mitchell ($8,700)

Mitchell might be one of the hotter players in the league right now with 45+ DK points in 4 straight games and a matchup against the 7th fastest team in the league. His individual matchup probably will be more against Anthony Edwards who last year was one of the worst defenders in the league and hasn't gotten much better this year. Mitchell is getting huge minutes and has had 32%+ usage in 5 straight games. That is up there with the best in the league and he will certainly be needed heavily to keep up with the Wolves high powered offense. With that high powered offense comes a pretty porous defense which bodes well for Mitchell to keep his hot streak alive.
High: Zach Lavine ($10,500)
Mid: Kelly Oubre Jr. ($7,500), Tyler Herro ($7,000) or Desmond Bane ($6,500)
Low: Chris Duarte ($4,600) or Eric Gordon ($5,300)

SF: Norman Powell ($4,800)

In a game without Lillard, McCollum and Anfernee, Powell will likely be needed to play close to 40 minutes at the SG and SF positions. He scored 36 DK points last game in a similar situation and I think against GS who runs at the 5th fastest pace he can possibly go past that here. This is simply a free square tonight with supremely high volume and usage with a low price, so take advantage of that on such a large slate.
High: Jayson Tatum ($10,600)
Mid: Gordan Hayward ($7,600) or Franz Wagner ($5,800)
Low: Derrick Jones Jr. ($4,300) or Terence Davis ($3,800)

PF: Tobias Harris ($7,600)

Charlotte is truly dreadful against PF's, boasting the 2nd worst PF DvP in the league over the last two weeks. In their last game against CHA 2 days ago, Tobias, returning from injury, played a whopping 41 minutes and scored 49 DK points. If that type of performance is ever repeatable, it would be against the Hornets. I think I would be a bit leary if Maxey ends up playing, but I still think he has well over 40 DK point upside and is still fairly cheap. Charlotte really can't stop Tobias and Embiid
High: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,600)
Mid: Evan Mobley ($6,400)
Low: James Johnson ($3,300) or Royce O'Neale ($4,300)

C: Steven Adams ($4,900)

Coming in as my 3rd best value on the slate, Adams has been playing great basketball lately. He has scored 30+ DK points in 3 of the last 5 games with a season high 44 DK points last game. He has seen 15%+ usage in each of the last two games which is what I like the most. He has an easier matchup against the team with the 6th worst C DvP in the last two weeks and has allowed quite a few rebounds over that time frame. Adams just seems a bit underpriced for the upside and he checks a lot of the boxes you would want out of your C tonight. This is more of a cash play since he should see a good bit of ownership, but if you want more GPP plays just use the guys below.
High: Joel Embiid ($11,700) or Pascal Siakam ($8,800)
Mid: Jusuf Nurkic ($6,900)
Low: Daniel Theis ($3,000) or Dwight Powell ($3,200)
Thanks for reading, best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the holidays!
